April 2023

Moonta Demons Senior Women

The team competed in the MNWFC this season, winning 3/7 matches, and making the finals in their first year. It’s a credit to all players, many of whom had never played competitive football before. A huge thanks goes to Mark Durdin for not giving up and finally getting a side together, and to Nick Rendell and Tyler Kelly for coaching. Congrats also goes to Rachel Valenti for coming runner up in the Association’s Best & Fairest count, and Hayley Durdin for coming runner up in the Leading Goal Kicker trophy. Next year Moonta FC are hoping to enter a Senior women’s side again, and an U16 side as well.

Round 1 Winners

It was a very successful day at home for the Moonta Demons against the CMS Crows with the U14, U17, Reserves and A Grade sides all in the winners’ seats. It was amazing to watch Dylan Aldridge kick 11 goals in the A Grade and Jayga Warmington kick 10 goals in the Reserves. Fantastic efforts from both players.

‘Garden of Deviish Delights’ - Round 2 April 15th.

Come along for a night of music and fun at the Moonta Oval after the Paskeville game. Food will be available to purchase from ‘Oh My Grill BBQ & Catering’ on the night. Live music is being provided by ‘RoKoUstiak’. Great value for $20 per ticket. Get a group together and support your club.

Masters Games – April 20-23rd., 2023 (Bye weekend)

This year the Coper Coast is hosting the Masters Games. Moonta Oval will be the venue for the Softball over the four days. This is a great opportunity for the club to make some money by opening up the Clubrooms, Canteen and BBQ Shed to cater for the visitors. Please contact Mark Durdin on 0416 436872 if you are able to help out as a volunteer on any of those days for a couple of hours. The more we have to share the load, the easier it is for everyone. It’s another way of supporting our club.

Round 4 V Ardrossan – April 29th.

This is an away game for the club at Ardrossan. There is a plan to hold team Presentations that night at Sunny Hill Distillery ( a Gold sponsor) on the way home. More details to come later.
